PEA Member-Contests
Social Media Contest
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first social media contest. We're pleased to announce that Sean Toscano has won as a Twitter follower and Tine Lathouwers has won as a Facebook fan. Both have received an 8GB iPod Touch.
We'd like to acknowledge how successful social media has become as a communications tool thanks to the 150 PEA members who have signed up to follow us on either site. We look forward to using social media to its full potential and to continue setting the trends in BC union communications.
We encourage all members to follow us on both sites. Here's what you need to do for each:
Twitter:
- If you don't already have a Twitter account, sign up for a one at http://www.twitter.com
- Log on and find the PEA's account (we are listed under pea_tweets)
- Click on the "follow" icon.
Facebook
- If you don't already have a Facebook account, sign up for one at http://www.facebook.com
- Head on to pea.org and click on the Find us on Facebook link (also in the right column of this page) or click here
- You will be re-directed to our Facebook page. You may need to login at the top of the page.
- Underneath the top menu bar is a link next to our name that says "become a fan," click it.
Rules and regulations for the social media contest (for your records)
- Only PEA members are eligible for the draw. You must be an active member in good standing on March 31st, 2010. You also must have an assigned member number on that date.
- You must be a fan of the PEA on Facebook on March 31st, 2010, to be eligible for the Facebook prize.
- You must be a follower of the PEA on Twitter on March 31st, 2010, to be eligible for the Twitter prize.
- On March 31st, 2010, staff at the PEA's Victoria office will draw each winner randomly. Winners will be announced online through social media sites and on pea.org.
- Members may only win one of the two prizes, but are allowed to enter for both (by becoming both a Facebook Fan and Twitter Follower).
- Members may choose to enter only one of the two contests.
- We must be able to see your real name on Twitter and/or Facebook to confirm your identity. If you do not wish your real name to be displayed, please email contest@pea.org with your wishes.
- For Facebook, you must be a Fan. The Facebook Group will be deleted in mid-December, and friends of the PEA on Facebook will not be eligible for the draw.
- For Twitter, you must be a registered follower of the PEA on Twitter.
- The PEA will not collect any information on members or share any contact information with any other parties. The PEA does not have the ability to view profiles of Fans on Facebook, nor will we follow our members on Twitter. We are committed to your privacy and wish to use these sites only as communications vehicles. A copy of our privacy policy can be viewed here.
- This contains pertains only to PEA central tweets and Facebook endeavours. ProfessionalsForBC and Access To Justice social media pages are not included in this contest.
