Professional Employees Association (PEA) Scholarships and Bursaries

The Association Executive awards up to ten scholarships of $1,000 each to PEA members and their families who are enrolling in a full-time post-secondary education program. Scholarships are awarded based on an essay competition adjudicated by the Scholarships Committee. Applicants must submit an essay of up to 1,500 words on the following topic:

Members of North American Unions have taken job action in response to employer decisions to outsource work to countries with lower labour costs. However, developing nations may benefit from outsourced work. What should a Canadian Union’s position be on the issue of outsourcing?

Scholarships are awarded based on the worthiness of the essay considering content, analysis and literary style, as judged by the Scholarships Committee.
