A reminder to all members of the Okanagan Regional Library to attend tonight's Annual General Meeting at the Vernon Lodge. Tonight's timely meeting will discuss bargaining activities and touch on what to expect after negotiations begin this week.

The Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) Chapter Bargaining Committee met by conference call in July to identify dates for collective bargaining. The Association’s collective agreement with the Library expired on April 30, 2009.
In preparation for bargaining, the committee has surveyed chapter members for their bargaining priorities and met to review member feedback. The committee decided to wait until after the provincial election in May before proceeding to the bargaining table because of rumours that a change of Ministers could result in changes to the transfer of municipal payments. It now appears that bargaining may commence soon after the Throne Speech on August 24.
