1.    Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 2:13 p.m. with G. Reichenback in the chair. 

2.    Approval of Agenda: M/S/C to adopt the agenda as circulated.

3.    Approval of Minutes: M/S/C to approve the minutes of October 16 as circulated.

 J. Annunziello, B. Chow and L. Thiessen joined the meeting.

 4.    Secretary-Treasurer=s Report: G. Reichenback distributed a copy of his report indicating that chapter funds totalled $31,954.56.

 M/S/C to accept the Secretary-Treasurer=s report as presented.

 5.     Donation Requests: J. Jensen reported that requests for donations for children=s Christmas parties had been received from chapter members in the following offices:

 M/S/C to approve donations of $100 each for children=s Christmas parties as requested.

6.     Local Representative Appointments: M/S/C to appoint J. Annunziello as a temporary Local Representative in Grand Forks.   

 7.     Retirement Seminars: J. Jensen reported on J. Woytack=s proposal to deliver retirement seminars in conjunction with personal counselling sessions in various locations in early 2007.

Executive members discussed whether the best service for members would be increased access to personal counselling sessions, and noted that members could be provided with a checklist of resources and information to review and gather prior to a personal session.

M/S/C that the GLP Chapter provide each member with the opportunity to access a one-hour personal retirement counselling session, via telephone or in person in Victoria, during the calendar year 2007, with the $125 cost of the session to be apportioned at $25 paid by the member and $100 paid by the chapter.

 8.         Staff Report: J. Jensen reported on the status of various labour relations matters affecting chapter members, including an arbitration award concerning the definition of field status and settlement of a policy grievance arising from the teachers= dispute in 2005.

 9.     Newsletter Article: B. Chow reported on his concerns with the article regarding wage increases for engineers appearing in the October issue of The Professional. 

L. Thiessen reported that other members had similar concerns.

 J. Jensen responded and explained the rationale and circumstances giving rise to the article.

 10.   Strategic Planning: J. Jensen asked for clarification of the system used to assign priority to various items.

 Executive members agreed to devote time from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at their January meeting to addressing the strategic plan.

 11.         AGM: J. Jensen reviewed the agenda and other materials for the meeting.        

 12.         Climate Goals Check-in: Executive members expressed their thoughts as to the conduct of the meeting in relation to the goals.

 13.   Future Meeting Date: J. Jensen reminded executive members of the conference call meeting scheduled for November 22 at 12 noon to de-brief the AGM.

 Executive members agreed that their next regular meeting would begin at 3 p.m. on January 8, 2007 at the Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel following the Association Executive Meeting.

 14.   Further Business:

 a)   Chapter Policy 3.1 B: J. Jensen advised on past difficulties with convention delegate elections arising from the timelines specified in the policy and suggested an amendment.

M/S/C to amend Policy 3.1 B to read AThe remaining chapter delegate entitlement shall be divided proportionately among eight provincial regions according to the number of chapter members whose work location falls within the region. The GLP Executive will select a date 120 to 90 days prior to convention to determine the number of chapter members whose work location falls within each region.@    

J. Jensen recommended that the executive choose the date selected by the Association Executive to determine each chapter=s delegate entitlement.
