Yes, the employer provides professional liability insurance. As long as the claim does not arise out of an intentional act or omission or gross negligence of an employee. The employer is responsible for the deductible should a successful claim be made. The employer will not make any change in coverage without the consent of the Association. You do have to immediately advise the employer in writing as soon as you are made aware of the claim.
The employer pays fees for the Law Society of British Columbia including the fee for membership in the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch.
As a term employee, does the Employer pay 100% of the Law Society fee?
No, the Employer pays a pro rated portion if you are a term employee.
As an auxiliary employee am I entitled to sick Leave?
As an auxiliary if you have 6 months of continuous service you are entitled to 6 day coverage at full pay in one fiscal year.
